Before and after a procedure

Here are some things you might like to know about what happens before and after a procedure.

Before a procedure

If you are on oral blood thinners (Warfarin, Eliquis , Pradaxa or Xarelto) need to stop 2 days before
If Diabetic and on Metformin, Jardiance or Forxiga need to stop day before.

You should have nothing orally (no food, nothing to drink) for 6 hours prior to a procedure.

After a procedure

You will be discharged from hospital the morning following the procedure.

  • You are not permitted to drive for at least 3 days.
  • No heavy lifting for at least 1 week.

You will have a review appointment 4-6 weeks following the procedure.

Calling for results

See your GP who will get copy of your test result, if you wish to discuss with Dr Proimos you will need to make review appointment.
